Michael James Mastros was born on October 27th, 1886 on the island of Kos, Greece.

Michael's father is James Mastros and his mother is Kathern Mastros.

Michael was a carpenter working on the Lincoln Tunnel in New York. He also worked at Armstrong Cork Co. He owned a grocery store at the corner of Orange & Water Streets, Lancaster. He had a green grocery truck. Later, he opened a restaurant, Mastros Restaurant and later renamed it to Mastros & Sons Cafe, located at the corner of Duke & Vine Streets, Lancaster with a dance floor on the 2nd floor.

Michael was one of the founders of the Greek Orthodox Church in Lancaster, PA. He served his church in many ways, and he was the President Of The Council.

He built financial security for his family without any special formal training. He survived the great depression of '29, and gave bread and other food items to the poor people of that time. He was loved a great deal by his seven children.

He married Christina Nicholaou. (Date and Location unknown.) James and Christina had seven children; Catherine, James, Mary, George, Sophie, Sadie, and Christ.

Michael died from a heart attack in the Lancaster General Hospital, and a very large funeral followed. He died on July 23rd, 1953 at the age of 66 and was laid to rest at the Lancaster Cemetery, Lime And Lemon Streets, Lancaster, PA.
